Dquad Obsession V2 Rocks

I have been hanging to build this quad for a while now, but haven’t been able to afford any more gear, so I decided to strip down my old race quad because I had broke it and I was at my max camera angle. Everyone I spoke to said it was a tight build, so I took that on board. I got motors, ESC’s and flight controller on within 30 mins and started thinking this isn’t all that hard what is everyone talking about. Now getting the VTX and RX in took some time, I could not find a way of getting them both in. In the end I double sided taped the RX to the VTX and wedged it between the frame and the Foxeer arrow camera. With the camera angle being changed dramatically I have had a few tumbles today and VTX and RX have not moved so I am happy with the way it sits and looks.  Hoping to get out tomorrow and run a few more packs through it.

By the end of today’s session I had full control of my new race beast and am flying more confidently and a lot faster.

Bolt 150 Tanto

Cant remember how long ago I bought this frame. It had a betaflight board in it originally with some 1407’s but they kept on cogging up so I bought a couple of new ones and they did the same thing, so I bought another 4 esc’s hoping that would solve the issue but it didn’t. The next leap of faith was to purchase 4 emax 1306 4000kv’s. Yes this fixed the issue and it did fly around ok but lacked power, which didn’t overly bother me because I never had a camera for it. Having no camera or VTX meant it got benched and it got benched for a very long time.

That’s when I had the crazy idea of throwing my raceflight Revolt V1 into it and also a matek pdb with MWOSD compatible OSD built in. The best part about that PDB is that it has a usb connection for the OSD firmware, so it can be updated with raceflight OSD very easily. Following the easy instructions from raceflight my OSD worked first go. However I am still having issues with trying to get my Tramp V2 to work on my LUA script. I have done a little more research and found that Tramp has issues with TX3 if s.port is on RX3 and I have my OSD on TX6 so my last option is to try TX4 on the bottom of the board. I’m going to give that a crack this weekend seeing as the weather is going to be crap.

Anyway long story short the Bolt 150 flies awesome on raceflight but the 1306’s do lack some punch so I am now on the prowl for some 1407’s.
